Aurelija Petkevičiūtė. Front-end Developer. IBM
Aurelija Petkevičiūtė
Front-end Developer
IBM
I am a front-end developer with a quite extraordinary career path. I started by finishing medicine and got a medical doctor degree. Then I thought: “Oops! Wrong degree” and switched to software engineering. My career as a developer began in the back-end with C#, .NET. However, love for the front-end took over. Currently I am working with React, even though my tech stack is not limited by this library. I believe that developers should not stick to only one technology, because it comes and goes. Good logical thinking and understanding of the basics help quickly adopt new stuff and keep up with an industry.

Artūras Stifanovičius
Tech Lead, Xamarin Developer
Visma Lietuva
I would describe myself as a .NET developer and have been working on various technologies for WEB, Desktop and Apps. Currently I am working as a team and project lead in one of the best [measured by fun atmosphere] and strongest [technically] teams you can find in Vilnius. I believe that everything can be achieved when revisiting your goals on the go and renewing your plan. I guess this can apply not only to the constantly changing technology world, but in any field. That’s why I always follow this simple credo: “Prepare for the worst, expect the best and take what comes”. I hope you will follow it as well.

Agnė Kelminskienė
Agile Coach
Revel Systems
I believe that there are no non-transferable skills. In the last five years, I changed my profession three times. From communication expert to product analyst, to agile coach and manager. I understood how finding synergies between different people and organizations can be as valuable as having deep knowledge in one field. Working with a team requires complementary talent and a different background or unique experience is a way to gain it. But many times you need a perspective to see the value you can bring. And this is where the mentorship shines!

Ieva Kriaučiūnienė
Head of Design

After getting acquainted with graphic design, and having experienced the adventures of large and small creative works, today I dive even deeper into the design. I am going deep into the science of user experience, user-centred design, web design and usability testing.
Overseeing, guiding and coaching an international team of designers is no less familiar to me than working with a creative team in order to create concepts for advertising campaigns or address the challenges in real-time.
My secret is simple – I believe that good design is not just about beauty. It also has to be functional and help brands by hitting directly at the heart rather than in the brain.

Started off my journey in IT being 13 years old hosting and making code changes to a game server which reached 500 consecutive online players. My career started off in a 24/7 Security Operations Center in which I was monitoring an enterprise IT infrastructure and discovered how interesting and alive the cybersecurity world is. This led on to me continuing in various Security Engineering roles building up and managing security infrastructure from zero. In my experience – Cybersecurity is rarely just a technical issue.
What is Mentoring?
There are many talented people left without professional support, which often results in loss of motivation. Mentors make sure that doesn’t happen!
Mentoring is best described as an educational process when mentors share knowledge with the purpose of surfacing potential in their protégés.
Mentors are not school teachers. They’re voluntary professionals that are motivated to pass on knowledge and contribute to Women Go Tech’s talent pool.
The process is based on guidance. Mentoring only serves as a vehicle towards self-realization.
The beauty of the Women Go Tech Acceleration program is that it’s a two-way learning experience, meaning that both parties will gain invaluable knowledge.
