Considering that the programme only allows a limited number of participants, we have to assess the eligibility of every applicant. Thus, we collect your data.

In the process of selecting candidates for employment or internships with us, you should provide us with the following information about yourself:

We need to assess your suitability to become a mentor, thus, we collect, use and store information about you.

After completing the selection, you would be offered to enter into a volunteering contract (oral or written) in accordance with the Law on Volunteering.

If you want to become a mentor you should provide us with:

  • identification data (name, surname, etc.);
  • contact details (telephone number and / or e-mail);
  • information about your experience (position, experience, field).

Accessing the application platform

This section describes how we process your personal data when you register to the programme participant’s contract. We would particularly like to point out that the transmission of access data to external content providers is unavoidable due to the technical functioning of information transmission on the Internet.

The categories of personal data we collect:

  • identification data (name, surname, profession, Interests, CV); 
  • contact details (telephone number, e-mail address, address, country, etc.). 

You are providing us with data in order to participate in the programme. The data that is not personal will also be used for research and reporting purposes. 

We collect access data in order to ensure the proper functioning of our services, the security of data and business processes, the prevention of misuse and damage caused by interference with the information system. The data is processed to establish a connection, to display the contents of the service, to detect attacks on our site based on unusual activities, and to diagnose errors (Article(6)((1)(f) of the GDPR). We store this data for 6 months.

To provide and improve our services, we also cooperate with providers who create and compile statistics, as well as providers of IT services (e. g. data centers and providers of hosting, backup and database services). These technical service providers have access to your data only to the extent necessary to perform their tasks. The technical service providers are obliged to treat your data in accordance with this data protection notice and applicable data protection laws.

The public institution Talentai Technologijoms takes care of the protection of your information. We comply with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other laws that protect your information. Please read this notice carefully to learn more. 

This notice will answer key questions about how we collect, use and store information about you. If you have any questions or any part of this notice is unclear, our institution is available to assist you. Please note that any form of the word “we” in this notice means our institution as defined in Section 2 of the notice.

3. Purposes for the processing for personal data

We collect, use and store your data for the following reasons:

  • for the conclusion and execution of the contract – a contract for participation in the programme will be concluded with selected participants;
  • compliance with our legal obligations in the field of accounting and similar matters (Article 6 (1) (c) of the GDPR); 
  • publicity of our activities – for this purpose we may ask for permission to publish photos, videos with your image and other information about you (name, surname, position, workplace) on our social network accounts and / or website;
  • for direct marketing – for this purpose we can send you our newsletters, ask for opinions about the programme and its events.

4. What kind of information should I provide you with and why?

The categories of personal data we collect:

  • identification data (name, surname); 
  • contact details (telephone number, e-mail address, address, country, etc.); 
  • data on current positions, certificates, pictures, social, video material, social media. 

This data is required for the conclusion and performance of the programme participant’s contract. Please note that, in the course of contract performance, we may request additional information about you if such information is necessary for the contract performance. 

6. What is the legal basis for collecting information about me? 

We collect information about you lawfully on the following grounds:

  • your personal data is required for the conclusion and fulfilment of the contract of the programme participant (Article 6 (1) (b) of the GDPR);
  • your personal data is necessary for us to fulfil our legal obligations in the field of accounting and similar matters (Article 6 (1) (c) of the GDPR);
  • the use of your personal data for the purpose of publicizing the activities of the institution is based on your consent (Article 6 (1) (a) of the GDPR);
  • we have a legitimate interest in sending newsletters to our programme participants and asking for their opinion on the programme and the events that took place during it (Article 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR).

7. Are you passing on information about me to anyone? 

When we process your personal data, we may transfer it to the following categories of data recipients:

  • for our service providers – accounting, website hosting (as far as necessary for uploading photos to our website), communication (e-mail), data processing, document management, e-mail, postal marketing, survey service providers with confidentiality and security obligations under personal data protection legislation;
  • to our partners to the extent necessary for the organization of events (i.e. to provide a parking space during the event, etc.).

8. How long do you store information about me?

We store your information in accordance with the following data retention periods:

  • information related to your participation in the programme (participant’s contract, information collected during the participation in the programme for contract performance, financial information) is stored for 10 years after the end of the contract;
  • we will use your personal data, including image data, to publicize our activities for 3 years after the end of your participation in the programme.

If you would like to take any of the following actions, please contact us. Please note that these rights are subject to the conditions and exceptions provided by law: 

  • make a request for access to available information about you if we process your personal data from which we may identify you;
  • submit a request to correct or supplement the available information about you;
  • make a request for deletion when: 
  • we process your data on the basis of consent;
  • we process your data unlawfully;
  • your data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest and you dispute our legitimate interest; or your data is no longer necessary to achieve the purposes for which it was collected;
  • we have a legal obligation to delete information about you; 
  • submit a request to us to restrict the processing of information held about you when you dispute the accuracy of or object to the processing of the data, you do not consent to the deletion of your unlawfully processed data or you need the data to claim, enforce or defend legal claims;
  • challenge the collection, use and storage of your information in our company when we process your data in accordance with a legitimate interest as the basis for data processing; 
  • submit a request to export your data if you have provided us with the data in a structured, commonly used format and have given your consent to the processing of such data or we need to process this data in order to perform the contract with you;
  • withdraw consent to the processing of your personal data, if any, at any time; 
  • submit a complaint to the State Data Protection Inspectorate (more information vdai.lrv.lt) or the Office of the Inspector of Journalist Ethics (more information zeit.lt), if it is related to the use of your image.
